Kelsea Ballerini has found true love after her heartbreaking divorce from Morgan Evans in 2022. The Voice coach and country singer, 31, and Outer Banks star Chase Stokes, 32, have been dating since early 2023. A little over two years later, sources tell Life & Style that the two are more in love than ever.
“Kelsea says this is the healthiest relationship she’s ever been in,” insiders tell Life & Style. “She feels seen and heard and Chase is unlike any guy she’s ever been with. He’s so supportive of her career, he’s so busy with his own — and when they’re alone together they’re on the couch watching movies or reality TV and cooking together.”
What started with a DM has turned into a fairy tale for the pair, who, according to our sources, tell everyone it’s been two of the most fulfilling years of their lives. “They prioritize being in a relationship and put their needs first.”
But wedding bells aren’t ringing just yet for Kelsea and Chase. “They aren’t rushing into marriage, just they feel so connected and calm. It’s really a great place to be. There aren’t any games or fights just to start fights,” the source adds.
Kelsea divorced country singer Morgan, 40, in 2022, which caught fans by surprise, but she saw the writing on the wall.
“I think when there’s a big life decision like that, it’s not a sudden one,” she told CBS Mornings in October 2022. “And there’s a lot that happens before that becomes public. So, I’m on my, like, active healing journey.”
Kelsea continued to say there was nothing dramatic about the couple’s split, “It’s not, like, volatile, it just didn’t work and that sometimes is, like, a difficult narrative to get your head around when you’re like, ‘Oh, my gosh. This is a good person. And I’m a good person. And this is just no longer good anymore.’”
The “Hole in the Bottle” singer released Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, a six-song story and short film that detailed her divorce, in early 2023. While it has had major success, the country superstar has been questioned for how she was able to move on so quickly.
“They also really prioritize their communication over everything else,” the source tells Life & Style of Kelsea’s relationship with Chase. “The fact that they talk through things together in therapy — and moved in together pretty fast — may raise eyebrows to some but truly neither one of them cares what anyone else thinks.”
Kelsea opened up to People earlier this month about how therapy has helped the pair stay strong. “You become a mirror for each other. He helps me see the best things about myself and vice versa,” she said. “We also show each other the things that we want to get better at.”
Our source adds, “Their relationship gives them the confidence to just be truthful knowing there’s not going to be any negative repercussions about their relationship. There are no secrets, everything is out in the open and that’s why friend’s say that their relationship is going to go the distance.”
