Are Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Still Together?
Orlando and Katy are still together. In fact, Orlando was present in West Texas as Katy was part of an all-woman team that launched into an 11-minute trip to zero-gravity space before touching back down on Earth on April 14, 2025.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star kept a low profile and made a rare public appearance with the couple’s only child, daughter Daisy Dove Bloom. Katy made sure to bring a reminder of the little girl on her space journey, showing off a small daisy while in the capsule and back on the ground in Texas.
When Did Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Start Dating?
The couple met at a Golden Globes afterparty on January 10, 2016. Photos captured the pair having a flirty interaction at the time.
Katy recalled how their mutual love of a certain burger bonded them initially.
“I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out. We were at the Golden Globes and we weren’t together,” she recalled during an episode of American Idol in March 2019. “So I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend’s hand — he wasn’t even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, ‘Hey that’s my burger!’”
Katy and Orlando became Instagram official with their relationship in May 2016 after numerous dating reports.
Orlando revealed how he wasn’t very knowledgeable about the pop superstar’s career when they started dating.
“I am a little older than her, so I wasn’t someone overly familiar with her artistic endeavors when we met. I wouldn’t have imagined anything happening. And, you know, when you get hit sideways you get hit sideways. You don’t pick who you fall in love with,” he told The Times in April 2018.

The duo confirmed they were taking time apart after rumors began swirling in February 2017 that the pair had broken up.
“Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” their reps said in a statement to People on February 28, 2017.
Two days later, the “Roar” singer took to X — then known as Twitter — to say their split was amicable.
“HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017!?” she wrote. “U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!”
Orlando addressed their breakup with hope for the future in his 2018 interview with The Times.
“We had a really remarkable connection. And it’s difficult. She’s on tour, I’m doing a play, everything evolves. I have a lot of respect for her and a lot of deep feeling. So, we will see,” he explained.
When Did Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Get Back Together?
Shortly after Orlando’s interview with The Times was published in February 2018, he and Katy were spotted vacationing together in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
The couple made their first red carpet appearance after getting back together at the Global Ocean at the Opera of Monte-Carlo in Monaco in September 2018.
Orlando Bloom Proposed to Katy Perry in an Elaborate Way
The couple announced their engagement on February 15, 2019, after Orlando’s Valentine’s Day proposal.
“Full bloom,” the “Firework” singer captioned a selfie showing her engagement ring that featured a ruby center stone surrounded by diamonds, resembling a blooming flower.
“It was very sweet,” Katy revealed about Orlando’s proposal during a February 18, 2019, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “It was Valentine’s Day … we went to dinner, and I thought we were going to go see some art after dinner but we pulled up to a helicopter.”
The Cut star propped the question on the helicopter flight in Los Angeles. “We landed on a rooftop — my whole family was there, and all my friends. He did so well,” Katy gushed.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Have Postponed Their Wedding Several Times
The couple reportedly planned to marry in Japan during the summer of 2020, but postponed the ceremony due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“It was all set for Japan with 150 guests. Katy was actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant,” a source close to the couple told People in March 2020, shortly after the “Dark Horse” singer announced her pregnancy with Daisy. “They were both so elated that all the wedding details were finally coming together, but they are hitting pause because of coronavirus.”
Katy gave birth to the couple’s daughter on August 26, 2020.
The “California Gurls” songstress revealed in 2022 that she and Orlando were still hoping to get married, but COVID kept getting in the way.
“It’s a party far from home. We’re still trying to make it work, [but] every two months it’s like: ‘New variant! New variant!’” Katy explained during an appearance on Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
What Has Katy Perry Said About Getting Married to Orlando Bloom?
The Santa Barbara, California, native said the duo were still planning to tie the knot during a July 2024 appearance on the UK’s Heart Radio Breakfast.
“We are engaged, yes. I was going to get married and then Covid happened and now I have a really large credit at a venue that I am going to use,” she explained.
Katy revealed how things had changed since her 2020 wedding plans.
“I was pregnant then, so the dress is different now,” she said about her gown.
“We are going to rework the whole thing,” Katy added about how she and Orlando decided on new ideas for the ceremony.
