Michael B. Jordan and Taylor Russell have been getting cozy in London and a source exclusively speculates to Life & Style that it’s only a matter of time before they take things further, as mutual pals marvel over their sizzling chemistry.
“Taylor was hired for Michael’s new movie [The Thomas Crown Affair remake] and a big part of why she got the role was their chemistry,” the source dishes. “It was instant when she walked into the room for casting.”
Michael, 38, who will also be directing and producing the film, had a “big hand in choosing her” for the role as well, the source clarifies.
“They’ve been trying to keep things professional but it’s very obvious that there’s a huge spark between them,” adds the source. “They’re finding all these excuses to hang out, even when it’s not required for work. And when they are together the flirting is hard to miss, he totally dotes on her.”
“It’s a delicate situation because they are working together, so for obvious reasons they’re not going to want to flaunt this too much right now, but everyone’s saying it’s only a matter of time before they’re a full-on couple,” the source continues. “You can just tell when you’re in the same room with them that there’s something special between them.”
This comes after Michael and Taylor, 30, sparked rumors of romance when they were seen out and about in London together on March 9. The Sinners actor sported a casual look in a baggy pair of jeans, a white shirt and a black hoodie, while the Bones and All star rocked an ankle-length black skirt, a gray jacket and a long green scarf.
When approached by a fan, Michael shook their hand before he and Taylor continued their walk down Oxford Street.
As Life & Style previously reported, a source said that Taylor’s ex Harry Styles is “feeling the sting” of her rumored romance with Michael.
The former couple reportedly began dating around June 2023 and broke up in May 2024.
“Harry really hasn’t moved on since their split,” the source explained. “They didn’t end on bad terms, but it was a huge blow for him. It’s the first time he’s ever been dumped, so to see her with someone new has hit a real nerve.”
The Escape Room: Tournament of Champions actress previously opened up on the pain that can be experienced in relationships in a 2023 interview with The Face magazine.
“You have to open up and allow people to know you. You’re going to be in a community of people that are going to be there for you. You have to allow them to know you,” she reflected at the time. “If something happens, something happens, that’s life. You are going to be hurt – that’s the tax. The tax on a real relationship is the reality that you will get hurt, you will [have] grief, something will be lost at some point and that’s OK. It’s worth it.”
As for Michael, he was previously in a romantic relationship with Lori Harvey. Following his public split from the model, 28, he admitted it had been an “experience for him to grow and learn” during a February 2023 appearance on CBS Mornings.
“This is my year,” he added. “There’s so much going on, so many blessings, so many great things.”
