Nick Lachey revealed that he once attempted to join the cast of Entourage in the 2000s.

The 51-year-old 98 Degrees member said that he tried out for a major role in the hit HBO series that ran from 2004-2011.

“That show was so groundbreaking. I actually auditioned for that show,” Nick said during a recent episode of the Throwbacks podcast.

While the singer didn’t originally reveal what character he auditioned for, co-host Jerry Ferrara, who played Turtle on the show, correctly guessed that Nick tried out for the main character Vincent Chase.

Jerry told Nick that he would have been “great” in the role, which ended up going to actor Adrian Grenier.

However, Nick now has no hard feelings over the way things turned out, as he thinks Adrian‘s performance made the show great.

“It would’ve been a totally different take on the character. He was perfect. That show was so iconic in that moment. Everyone loved it,” he said.

If you didn’t see, last year, Nick made a rare comment about his former marriage to Jessica Simpson.
