Founder of Barstool Sports and likely now regretful Trump supporter, Dave Portnoy, revealed in a recent video that he lost over 7 million dollars after the stock market crash brought on by Trump’s tariffs.
“I’m down $7 Million [today]… Trump has put his tariffs all over the place… I’ve been trying to understand them – I don’t,” Portnoy said. ” … And everything is in the s***ter because of it.”
Despite this statement, Portnoy was quick to state that he doesn’t blame this loss on Trump: “Portnoy called Trump a ‘smart guy’ while explaining that he voted for him. The Barstool founder also bluntly stated that Trump is ‘smarter than me’ when it comes to tariffs.”
Portnoy has become a mini-celebrity in his own right due to Barstool Sports, recently even being parodied on the TV show Family Guy (clip under the cut).
