A big change is coming to the “it’s a small world” attraction at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.
The Disney Parks Blog shared some updates on the resort’s upcoming 70th anniversary celebrations, including the new addition of a third verse to the popular ride’s famous song.
If you’re unfamiliar, “it’s a small world” was first created for the 1964 New York World’s Fair, and it was then moved to the Disneyland Resort after the World’s Fair closed, and it opened in 1966 in the Southern California theme park.
There are also versions in nearly ever Disney theme park across the world, including at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

It was recently revealed that the upcoming addition to the ride’s song at Disneyland in Anaheim will be a third verse written by the late, legendary composer Richard M. Sherman as his final contribution to Disney.
A tribute to the Sherman Brothers is coming to the Main Street Cinema with a three-and-a-half-minute film titled, “The Last Verse,” which you can see here.
The film “celebrates the timeless connection and hope behind the Sherman Brothers‘ iconic song, ‘it’s a small world.’”
“Mother earth unites us in heart and mind / And the love we give makes us humankind /
Through our vast wondrous land / When we stand hand in hand / It’s a small world after all,” reads the new verse.
The third verse will become part of the “it’s a small world” attraction at Disneyland starting July 17th.
