Travis Kelce is spilling the tea on how he and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, get ready for the big moments in their careers, in his case — the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs player was asked if he or the pop star had “any game day superstitions.”
“I do not, I don’t know her to have any either,” Travis, 35, said during a media day for the Super Bowl on Wednesday, February 5.
Reporters wasted no opportunities to ask the NFL star the major questions about his relationship with Taylor, 35, which included whether he planned on getting on one knee during the game’s halftime.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Travis coyly responded as he smiled at the camera.
Despite not confirming a potential proposal, Travis did share intimate details surrounding his relationship with the 14-time Grammy winner. After he was asked about her cooking and the meals she prepared him, he responded, “I’m a breakfast guy, man. I would say her homemade pop-tarts are unbelievable.” He also added that his girlfriend was “quite the cook.”
The Ohio native aimed to “match” Taylor’s energy by making her proud through his professional achievements, especially at the upcoming Super Bowl. “I better hold up my end of the bargain,” he said. “She’s up there being the superstar that she is and never taking no for an answer and always working her tail off.”
The Kansas City Chiefs secured their place in the 2025 Super Bowl, which is set to be held in New Orleans, after a victory over the Buffalo Bills on January 26. Travis’ team will face quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, a rematch of the 2023 Super Bowl win, where they beat the Eagles 38 to 35.
Ever since Taylor and Travis went public with their relationship in September 2023, the “Blank Space” artist is often spotted at Chiefs games as she cheers her boyfriend on from a suite alongside his friends and family.
Many fans have been eagerly waiting for Taylor and Travis to take the next step in their relationship with an engagement, but the A-listers haven’t shared many details about their future plans. However, an insider exclusively told Life & Style that Taylor “has felt like she’s had the best year of her life” in 2024 due to her romance with the professional athlete.
“Her relationship with Travis has strengthened so many parts of her and made her more confident and fearless,” the source dished in November 2024. “Finding a love like this has changed Taylor.”
In addition, Travis feels equally supported by his partner, especially as he contemplates the possibility of retiring from the NFL.
“She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” he said about Taylor during his appearance on the January 15 episode of the Stephen A. Smith Show. “She loves coming to Arrowhead [Stadium] and coming to the games and cheering for me so I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”
Travis also noted that being in a stable relationship has helped him become a better player on the field. “That’s the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft,” he continued. “Focus on being the best version of you.”
