The animation film became the first ever to pass $1 billion and highest grossing in a single market. It’s been out in China for 11 days.
The highest grossing record was 936 million grossed by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which itself had taken 165 days to reach that mark.
Based on popular eponymous Chinese mythological character, loosely based on the classic 16th-century novel Investiture of the Gods.
