Christina Haack (formerly Christina Hall) and ex-husband Tarek El Moussa are looking back at the ups and downs of their coparenting relationship.
The Christina on the Coast star, 41, and her first ex-husband, 43, referenced their infamous argument at son Brayden’s soccer game in 2022 during the premiere of their new HGTV show, The Flip Off, on Wednesday, January 29.
“Heather basically kind of took over my position,” Christina said in a confessional, referencing Tarek’s current wife, Heather Rae El Moussa (née Young). The model, 37, was also involved in the 2022 soccer field standoff, as was Christina’s now-estranged husband, Josh Hall. Heather stars in The Flip Off as Tarek’s home renovation partner. Josh, 44, was previously set to appear as Christina’s partner prior to their July 2024 divorce filings.
“Those are some big shoes to fill,” Christina continued. “Tarek and I are still in each other’s lives.”
In his own confessional, Tarek said, “We are raising kids together.”
Christina added, “We try to keep it friendly, a lot of things can happen on the soccer field.”
After images of magazine headlines about their soccer field fight and other arguments flashed on the screen, Tarek joked, “There may have been some outbursts here and there.”
In May 2022, Tarek was photographed pulling Heather by the arm away from what appeared to be a heated confrontation with Christina and Josh, who were seated on the sidelines of the soccer field as Christina and Tarek’s son played in the game. Though Tarek and Heather kept their distance from the other couple for most of the match, the real estate investor was later spotted in a heated discussion with Josh. A soccer coach had to intervene, The Daily Mail reported at the time.
Christina and Tarek’s reps told Life & Style of the incident, “A personal matter was discussed and has since been resolved. We are focused on coparenting as a team moving forward.”
The soccer field spat came days after Brayden, who was 6 years old at the time, was hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy. A source exclusively told Life & Style in May 2022 that the child’s healthcare led to the argument.
“Presumably, Christina thought Heather overstepped her stepmom boundaries by giving her opinion regarding her and Tarek [El Moussa]’s son Brayden’s health issues,” the insider said. “Voices were raised between the two women; some nasty comments were made and Tarek stepped in to tell Christina to back off.”
The source continued, “Josh got in Tarek’s face, and thankfully, one of the soccer coaches stepped in between Tarek and Josh. It was all a complete mess, tempers were at an all-time high, feelings were hurt, egos were bruised. It got ugly.”
Christina and Tarek tied the knot in 2009 and welcomed two kids, daughter Taylor in 2010 and Brayden in 2015. The former couple separated in May 2016, and they both filed for divorce in 2017. The split was finalized in January 2018.
While Tarek married Heather in 2021, Christina tied the knot with second husband Ant Anstead in December 2018. She and Ant, 45, welcomed son Hudson in September 2019, one year before their separation. The former spouses finalized their divorce in June 2021, and Christina moved on with third husband Josh.
