As Taylor Swift has famously acknowledged, her presence at Kansas City Chiefs games has a tendency to piss “off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.” It appears she’ll have to add at least one ”Skip” to that list after Saturday, when alleged sexual harasser and former Fox Sports host Skip Bayless had a social media meltdown when he spotted Swift in a box at Arrowhead Stadium during the team’s playoff game against the Houston Texans. But this time, the anger wasn’t over any perceived impact Swift might have on the gridiron performance of her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Instead, it was a furious howl over Swift’s seatmate, WNBA star Caitlin Clark.
Taylor Swift arrived at the Chiefs’ AFC Divisional Playoff game Saturday clad in what Page Six says was “over $22K worth of Chanel.” (The full look, Vogue notes, is straight from the company’s recent runway show.) She took a seat in her standard suite, where she was flanked most frequently by family members.
But during the third quarter, those folks made room for Clark, a game-changing WNBA star who’s just finished her first year as point guard with the Indiana Fever. The rookie of the year actually met Kelce at her home stadium last fall, when she attended the final U.S. dates of Swift’s Eras Tour in Indianapolis. “She’s awesome,” Kelce said on his New Heights podcast in November.
“She’s a Swiftie through and through,” Kelce continued. “She was into the show for sure. She was there with her mom and a few friends. I think this was like her third or fourth show she had been to.” She’s also a Chiefs fan, Clark noted on a New Heights appearance earlier this month. “I had family in Kansas City, and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours from Kansas City,” Clark said. “That’s just the closest NFL team.”
