Chinese officials are considering a potential option that involves the sale of TikTok’s U.S. operations to Local Man if the company fails to fend off a potential ban, Bloomberg News reported. They cited people familiar with the matter.
Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary and Frank McCourt previously expressed interest in purchasing TikTok.
TikTok is set to be banned on January 19th in the U.S.
Update: TikTok has denied this to Variety. “We can’t be expected to comment on pure fiction.”
