The Pitt is a new medical drama from John Wells starring Noah Wyle about ER doctors but definitely totally not a sequel to the long-running series ER (because Michael Crichton’s widow sued, prompting Warner Bros lawyers to say that The Pitt is “a completely different show”). Originally Wells and Wyle discussed doing an ER reboot or reunion but eventually pivoted to doing a show with new characters in Pittsburgh. Like 24, each episode of The Pitt covers one hour in real time. The show airs Thursdays on HBO Max.
In addition to Dr. John Carter (who is now named Dr. Rabinavitch), the cast includes:
Tracy Ifeachor (The Originals, Quantico, Legends of Tomorrow)
Patrick Ball
Katherine LaNasa (Three Sisters, Devious Maids, Katy Keene)
Supriya Ganesh
Fiona Dourif (daughter of actor Brad Dourif / Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, The Blacklist)
Taylor Dearden (daughter of actor Bryan Cranston / American Vandal, Sweet/Vicious)
Isa Briones (daughter of actor Jon Jon Briones / Hamilton, Star Trek: Picard, Hadestown)
Gerran Howell (Young Dracula, Catch-22, Ludwig)
Shabana Azeez (Metro Sexual, Run Rabbit Run, Nautilus)
Shawn Hatosy (The Faculty, Southland, Animal Kingdom)
Michael Hyatt (Ragtime, The Wire, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Snowfall)
