While Angelina Jolie‘s sons have accompanied their mom to awards ceremonies and premieres, her daughter, Zahara Jolie, joined the actress as her date to the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5.
Angelina, 49, arrived on the red carpet with Zahara, 19, as the two ladies looked glamorous in their gowns. The Oscar winner donned a beaded Alexander McQueen gown with black and silver streaks over a sheer panel.
Zahara chose a white sleeveless dress with a black tree-like pattern. The elegant pair posed for photos on the red carpet while holding hands and smiling at each other before heading in to the awards ceremony.
Angelina discussed how much her life had changed since she won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in 2000 for her performance in Girl, Interrupted, telling E!‘s Zuri Hall she’s had “a lifetime of difference,” in the past 25 years. “So, [I’m] just happy to be here.”
“Now I’m here with my daughter, so I’m here as a mom,” Angie said of bringing Zahara as her date. “That’s different.”
It was the twosome’s second big outing in two days, as on January 3, the Spelman College student attended the Palm Springs Film Festival with her mom. Angelina wore a black satin halter gown while Zahara chose a flowing white dress.
Angelina took home the Desert Palm Achievement Award for her role as opera singer Maria Callas in Netflix’s Maria. At the Golden Globes, she lost out Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama for her role in the film to I’m Still Here star Fernanda Torres.
The weekend of red carpet appearances seemed to hint that Zahara or one of Angelina’s other five children she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt could be her dates to upcoming awards shows.
Angie’s youngest son, Knox, made a rare appearance as his mom’s date to the 2024 Oscars Governors Awards on November 17, 2024. It marked his first major outing in a tuxedo to a glam event.
The Wanted star’s two oldest sons, Maddox and Pax, joined Zahara to support their mom at Maria‘s screening during the 62nd New York Film Festival in September 2024.
Maddox, 23, and Pax, 21, worked on the film with their mom in the assistant director’s department.
“It really meant a lot that my boys were with me on Maria,” Angelina told The Hollywood Reporter in August 2024. “When I would have really heavy times, they would come over and just give me a hug or a cup of tea. That was probably one of the more intense things was that — usually when I’m expressing that much pain, it’s not in front of my children.”
“You really try to hide from your children how much pain and sadness you carry. And so for them to be with you when you’re expressing it at such a level, I think it was the first time they ever heard me cry like that,” she admitted before joking, “That’s usually for the shower.”
