The legacy of Selena Quintanilla Perez will be revisited in a new documentary premiering at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.
Selena y Los Dinos, about Selena (who was murdered in March 1995), will have its world premiere as part of the U.S. Documentary Competition. Mexican-American director Isabel Castro is behind the upcoming documentary.
Using never-before-seen footage from her family’s archive and interviews with people who were close to her, the film, according to the Sundance site, will chronicle “Selena Quintanilla — the “Queen of Tejano Music” — and her family band, Selena y Los Dinos [with a] celebration of her life and legacy.”
The film will be produced by Julie Goldman, Christopher Clements, J. Daniel Torres, David Blackman and Simran Singh.
