Jason Kelce is having a hard time coming up with the perfect gifts for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift this holiday season.
“It’s tough to shop for people that can have anything that they want,” Jason, 37, said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, November 21. “You gotta go to handmade gifts [or] something sentimental, maybe, that is near and dear to them.”
The former Philadelphia Eagles player added that while he’s “never” made any sort of handmade gift, he imagines that it would “work really well.”
“I’ve got something up my sleeve this year,” Jason continued. “A macaroni necklace … It works on me with my kids very well.”
Jimmy, 57, joked that the dad of three could potentially start a trend with the jewelry.
“It would be really funny if you make Taylor a macaroni necklace and then, all of a sudden, millions of girls are wearing macaroni necklaces,” the late-night host quipped.
Jason took the joke further and threw out the idea of “friendship macaroni necklaces” as a reference to the friendship bracelets Swifties have been trading at Taylor’s shows during the Eras tour.
The former NFL star seemingly has a close relationship with Taylor, 34, and has spoken openly about how much he adores her in the past. After Travis, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs brought home the win against the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl, Jason was spotted enjoying the night along with his baby brother and the “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” singer to celebrate the victory.
In June, he gushed about Taylor and Travis’ relationship.
“We just wanna be supportive of him and their relationship and everything they’ve got going on because it’s so wonderful right now,” Jason told CBS reporter Alicia Roberts in a video shared via X on June 27.
Plus, the Cleveland, Ohio, native has raved about Taylor’s talent on more than one occasion.
“She’s just so talented it’s ridiculous,” Jason said during his September 12 appearance on the 94WIP Morning Show. “Not only as a singer, a songwriter, production-wise, like, she’s so involved in every facet of it. When I think of the big names in music that have sustained over such a long time the way she has, it feels like all of them kind of get to that.”
He even likened her talent to that of legendary artist Bruce Springsteen.
“What’s so impressive about her is it’s so self-controlled. She’s so involved in all of it,” Jason continued. “A lot of these guys, they were great artists, and that’s what the profession is, but when you can be the great artist, as well as the great business manager, as well as the great producer … when you can wear all of those hats … it’s just remarkable to me that she can do all of that.”
Jason also touched on the amount of attention the romance between Taylor and Travis has gotten since they began dating in July 2023 and admitted that there were positive and negative aspects to it.
“When you’re trying to be private and live your life, it can be overwhelming, but I think that she’s built up such a fan base and a contingency and an amount of people that really, really just love her.”
