Opposites attract! Cara Delevingne dished on the adventures she had when she lived with bestie Taylor Swift after a nasty split from an ex.
“I was going through a really horrible breakup, and she let me live with her,” the supermodel, 32, told Nikki Glaser in a sitdown for Interview Magazine published on Thursday, November 21. “We’re very different people.”
Cara explained that Taylor, 34, is very “homely” — in the U.K., the term means “cozy and comfortable” — “because she looked after me so well.” However, she teased that she and the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker “got into some — not trouble, but I definitely took her for a bit of a wild ride.”
Cara continued, “Just to get her to blush would be great.”
The Paper Towns star also gushed about her longtime pal’s sense of humor.
“The thing about Taylor, though, is I’ve seen her do a speech at someone’s wedding before, and it was a roast,” she said. “She’s one of the funniest, most clever people. Anyone could roast her easily, but at the same time, she could f–k everyone up so hard. I could definitely roast her, because I lived with her for a little bit.”
Cara and Taylor seemingly met at the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. They’ve been best friends ever since, supporting each other whenever possible. In May, the “Fortnight” singer quietly flew to London to see the English actress in her final performance as Sally Bowles in the West End production of Cabaret. Taylor had just wrapped a set of Eras tour shows in Spain. Her appearance at Playhouse Theater was confirmed by the theater’s head of marketing, Arthur Jones, on X.
“Taylor Swift?? Was supporting Cara Delevingne?? At Cabaret?? TONIGHT??!!” a fan wrote on the social media platform. Arthur responded, “Can confirm. A special night.”
Cara has also been supportive of Taylor’s romance with Travis Kelce, which began in July 2023.
“I’m so, so happy for her,” she told E! News at the Las Vegas Grand Prix race in November 2023. “There’s definitely something very different about them. I’m always rooting for my girl.”
A source exclusively told Life & Style in June that Taylor and Travis, 35, seem likely to make it down the aisle someday, and Cara is a good bet to be a bridesmaid or even maid of honor.
“Taylor adores Cara. She was one of the people really pulling for her when she went through her hard time and she’s never forgotten that,” the insider said. “There’s a lot of mutual respect between them. Cara really looks up to her and is so in awe of all that she’s achieved.”
The source later added, “Taylor’s going to have a big decision to make when it comes to choosing her maid of honor. Everyone’s assuming it will be Blake Lively, but the way things are shaping up these days, Cara’s a frontrunner.”
“One of the most important jobs for the maid of honor is planning the bachelorette party and keeping Taylor calm and happy during the big day, and there’s no one better for that than Cara,” the insider concluded. “Travis would be smart to make a friend out of Cara because she’s someone Taylor relies on for advice. If he has her on his side, he won’t go wrong.”
