Sony is slowing production of optical discs (including Blu Rays)

Sony will gradually cease production of optical disc storage media products, including Blu-ray discs.

So says Mainichi (which they link to); this comes from a decline in blu-ray (and other disc) sales, “With streaming being the norm”, and 250 jobs in its recordable media business’ key manufacturing hub in Northern Japan are being cut.
